Colour Your Own Advent Calendar

A new gift from South African Maker, Lauren Mandy of LalaArtBar is a home-based art studio offering process-driven art experiences for Little Artists, and Art Boxes for everyone. Imagine, explore, create, and play.

Each day from 1 December until Christmas Eve, colour in an ornament and add a sparkly star sticker.

The Advent Calendar pack includes an A1 poster to colour in, 12 coloured pencil crayons, and 24 large sparkly star stickers.

This is an Advent Calendar with a difference: it’s not about receiving a tiny gift or a sugary treat, but about spending a few minutes each day adding colour, and hopefully lighting a creative spark to carry through the day and the festive season.

It also celebrates the build-up to an African Christmas. Father Christmas and Rudolph simply had to be included for Little Artists. However, there are no hedgehogs, robins, polar bears, foxes, or acorn-toting squirrels. Instead, you’ll find the big five in festive regalia, as well as a southern right whale, an African penguin, and a glamorous giraffe amongst the 24 items to colour in.

There are no snowflakes, snowmen, or mittens: it’s summer in South Africa! Instead, paste spectacularly sparkly star stickers (one for each day) and think about the beautiful starry nights we enjoy in our Southern hemisphere summer.

These items are handmade in Cape Town, South Africa and shipped to you from here, the Mother City!
